Big crowds are expected at the East Gippsland football events being organised by the Lindenow Football and Netball Club with tickets selling fast.

Event Manager David Dunkley, said the VIP Marquee at the Alexander Memorial Match between arch-rivals Lindenow and Wy Yung and the night time East Gippsland Footy Show were proving popular.

“Ticket sales are going really well for both events,” Dunkley said.

“I think everybody was shocked when we signed Fevola and then along came Mike Brady.

“Some people just couldn’t believe that you could get both blokes down to Lindenow and involved in local football and netball.

“Brendan and Mike are a good mix of on and off-field entertainment and they appeal to all ages.”

The events, which are being held on Sunday, June 8, are the only football and netball activity in Gippsland for the day and coincide with the Queen’s Birthday long-weekend.

Dunkley said the club had one last big announcement to come in the weeks ahead.

“Nobody has done an event like this in the region and it has been hard work, but the support from the Bairnsdale Sporting and Convention Centre and other local businesses has been second to none,” Dunkley said.

“We haven’t finished yet, there’s still a special announcement to come and we are also in the process of finalising our local personalities for the East Gippsland Footy Show panel.

“The door is still open for sponsors who want to get involved and people looking at purchasing tickets but they have to be quick.”

Dunkley said anyone wanting further information on sponsorship packages or ticket sales should contact him as soon as possible on 0418 598 750.
