The Footy Show has well and truly come to East Gippsland with former Hawthorn and Gold Coast hard-man Campbell Brown and Fox Sports’ Liam Pickering to feature alongside Brendan Fevola as part of a star-studded panel.

The three former AFL players make up a panel, which would normally be restricted to a nationally televised program.

Joining the trio will be legendary AFL Grand Final performer Mike Brady and a number of local well-known sporting personalities.

Brown is now playing in country football competitions across Australia and will be a special guest in the VIP Marquee with Pickering and Brady at the Alexander
Memorial Match earlier in the day at Lindenow where Fevola will take the field for the Cats against Wy Yung.

He only retired from the AFL this year and featured on the panel of Channel 9’s AFL Footy Show with Fevola on a number of occasions.

Brown said it would be good to be back sitting alongside him and giving fans in East Gippsland an insight into the life of an AFL player.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun working with Fev again, we always had a good time on the Footy Show, he’s just a unique personality,” Brown said.

“Pickers and Mike Brady are great value as well and from all reports the day is going to be a huge footy event for East Gippsland.

“Getting back into grassroots footy makes you really appreciate the hard work of volunteers who run local clubs.

“I’m really looking forward to being involved in the events at Lindenow and Bairnsdale it should be a great day and night for the community.”

Event Manager David Dunkley said he was in the process of confirming local sporting personalities to also feature on the East Gippsland Footy Show panel and the club would make further announcements by the end of the month.

The Alexander Memorial Match will commence from 2:15pm with the VIP Marquee open to paying guests from 12:30pm.

The East Gippsland Footy Show will be held at the Bairnsdale Sporting and Convention Centre on Sunday, June 8 from 6:30pm.
