Nothing was more important in the roaring 1920s than fortune, fame and fashion.

Many yearned to get rich quick and with few other prospects, often turned to criminal activity to achieve their goals.

With more and more money to be made from bootlegging and other crimes, the risks were outweighed by the sheer influx of cash.

The endless rewards meant that gangsters would kill or be killed, creating notoriety for themselves amongst their fellow criminals, the media and broader public.

But just as important as the power of fortune and fame, was looking good – if you were going to be a gangster you had to look the part.

And if you were a good looking gangster, you had to be surrounded by beautiful women dressed to the absolute nines!
